Jasmine and Brian met me in downtown Norfolk on a warm evening for their engagement portraits. I suggested a few locations for Jasmine, since her and Brian are not originally from here she did not have to many areas that she was particularly familiar with. I sent her images from the Freemason District in downtown Norfolk, and she loved it! It fit perfectly for Jasmine because she fell in love with the classic homes and streets of the Freemason District and I couldn’t blame her about that! I could photograph in this area in downtown Norfolk every week!
The light is beautiful, the cobblestone roads are classic and their is new architecture to discover every time that you walk around this area in Norfolk. Their daughter came for a few portraits but really just wanted to play with rocks or be held by Brian, a true daddy’s girl, you may recognize them from a homecoming I did earlier this year for Brian’s military homecoming. It was such a joyous and emotional reunion I was happy that they asked me to photograph these portraits from them because I wanted the chance to photograph these three again!
Jasmine and Brian are going to celebrate their marriage next year in Nashville, where all of their family across the country and in different directions, can kind of meet in the middle! I’d say that Nashville is one awesome “meet in the middle” location. Congratulations Jasmine and Brian!
