I drove up the gravel road to see the Inn at Warner Hall in all it’s beauty. I found myself saying, “This is perfect for Kelly and Stephen,” as I drove down the tree lined road to the estate. With each passing Magnolia tree and Maple tree on the property I realized exactly why they picked to be married here. Kelly is originally from this area and her and Stephen love to be outdoors together. I also remember Stephen telling me about the Magnolia trees they planted on their land. From their love of dove hunting, fishing, boating or relaxing on a beach somewhere, it was no surprise to me that they wanted their entire wedding outside. What better place to bring their southern roots together with a classic setting than the Warner Hall? I cannot think of one!
Kelly and Stephen met on the beaches of the Outerbanks three years ago and because of that they always enjoy spending long beach days together in the sun. But, some of their other favorite things to do together involve wineries and breweries which just so happen to be some of my favorite things too! In fact, Stephen proposed to Kelly on one of their trips to Keswick Vineyards, in front of their fireplace. He completely surprised Kelly because they were on their way back from their families’ Thanksgiving vacation.
On the day of their Wedding at the Inn at Warner Hall, they both were calm and ready to see each other! They choose not to do a first look but Stephen talked about how he knew Kelly was going to be the most beautiful woman there and, “I also hope she wears a Cathedral Veil!” To him that would make his southern bride absolutely complete and even more beautiful than she already is on their wedding day, if that was even possible to do, as she walked down the aisle to commit to the rest of their lives together. Stephen got his wish! As Kelly came down the steps at the Warner Hall, Stephen’s eyes filled with tears and his chin had a slight tremble to it. We all knew that these two were meant to be together. You could feel all of that in the open air under the shade of the Maple trees and it built as Kelly walked closer and closer to her Groom.
Once they were at the alter together they held each other’s hands and prepared to never let them go. Just like when they met each other for the first time, as they stayed the entire night talking about their lives and themselves, they knew almost instantly that they were never letting the other one go. Kelly and Stephen, I was honored to witness and photograph your love together, it is truly such a special story and love that everyone can instantaneously feel when we are around you! Thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer and I hope that we will have times together to catch up at some local breweries in the future! Congratulations!
