Jess and Tony invited me into their home of two dogs, shelves of pictures of their family dating back to their great grandparents and a newly decorated nursery filled with Tony’s favorite childhood character, Poky Puppy, for their maternity portraits. I love photographing in home portraits. They are intimate and a wonderful way to incorporate your fur babies without having to take them out of the house. Most importantly, this is where they will be bringing home their baby boy OR girl, so it is fitting to celebrate this pregnancy in that same home.
Jess and Tony may look familiar to you, they were a bridesmaid and a groomsmen in my last blog post, Alyssa and Peter’s Wedding. I have known the Masciangelo family since I was a little girl, but the past few years I have gotten to know them even better. They are some of the most heartfelt and loving people I have met. I was grateful to photograph the love of their family at Alyssa and Peter’s wedding and then the following week photograph a new part of their family with Jess and Tony. Tony’ father built pieces of the nursery out of the wood from their old dock at his childhood home. From the blanket ladder to the book shelf, his father brought a lot of love into their nursery. Some of their other family members painted and refurbished the dresser while Jess couldn’t be around fumes from the paint, they painted each drawer a different color and signed messages for Baby M.
After we had their first babies, their dogs, in a few portraits we headed to the beach for Jess and Tony to spend the evening together. You have got to see their smiles and laughs when their baby kicked for them several times! I am overjoyed for Tony and Jess and I cannot wait to find out if they have a baby boy or girl to add to their family. Congratulations you two!
