Over the summer we took a family trip to Charleston, South Carolina and one of the days there we visited the gorgeous, Magnolia Plantation. You can see a few more photographs from where we stayed in my post about our summer: Sundays of Summer. Like most people, I fell in love with Magnolia Plantation almost instantly. It wasn’t just because the gorgeous southern charm of the estate, or even the Spanish moss canopies overhead as we turned up the driveway. It was those things of course, but it was also the animals!
I quickly realized that Magnolia Plantation was much more than a gorgeous and historical venue to say your nuptials to your best friend. As much as it was a perfect venue for a bride looking for southern charm it was also a perfect venue for someone who liked a little adventure. They have acres upon acres of gardens to walk around. They have vibrant Peacocks resting in the trees, along with other wildlife. And my favorite part is that they have deer that will walk right up to you and lick you!
Now maybe you don’t want to be licked while in your wedding dress or suit. But, I can promise you that these deer were polite and charming, just like the southern wedding venue itself! I got to pet the deer and look up at the peacocks in the trees and I could not help but think, this would be a lot of fun to photograph with a couple that loved animals as well!
We are heading back to Charleston near the end of March for some of our friends’ wedding! I would love to stay an extra day or two for engagement and anniversary sessions! Maybe even for a wedding or elopement, at any location in Charleston! I am also always available to book for weddings throughout the year, as I am a Virginia and Destination Wedding Photographer. The dates that I will already be there and available are March 23rd, 25th, and possibly the 26th! Contact me to schedule a session or inquire with me about a future wedding in Charleston.
If you are planning your Charleston, South Carolina Wedding then Magnolia Plantation is a great place to start on the search for a wedding venue!
