I was drawn too photographing a stylized session at O’Connor Brewery stemming from my own personality and likes. The couple that would get married at a brewery or hold an event there, to me, would be a relaxed, trendy and ethereal duo. They would be someone who wants good beer and a relaxed atmosphere for themselves and their wedding guests. I spend a few evenings a month with great friends and conversation over a great IPA beer from a local brewery or I am at the brewery itself again being provided with great conversation, playing a round of darts or listening to a local band. This is when I thought of O’Connor Brewery and the open space, with lots of natural light pouring through their windows. Their large stage that can hold a stellar band, and their long tables set up down the length of their taproom.
The tables are set up perfectly for the great conversation I was talking about. In a city where our phones and technology take over, I have always felt a community and seen people talking to people at local spots like this. That is how I feel a wedding should be. Personal, able to be in the moment and set up for a community to celebrate with each other. Thank you to everyone involved and bringing this photo shoot to life with me. I am in love with these ideas, these vendors and their creativtiy and concepts. I hope it can inspire couples to plan out their wedding day how they truly want it to be and maybe inspire them to realize what vendors and ideas are the perfect fit for them.
