Kelsey and Ryan’s Virginia engagement photography session was at a park called Windsor Castle, in Smithfield, Virginia. Every time that I ask a couple to meet me there and we walk up the wooden bridge to the “castle” they ask just that! “So that’s the castle?” It’s an old home, estate if you will, that is being redone currently. It’s large but it is not what you would think of as a castle! Honestly, I love the trees and vines around the Castle more than the building itself. The building keeps us in the shade when we want to be and allows me to let light pop in when I want!
Kelsey and Ryan also did a Christmas Tree farm engagement session where we had a winter wonderland thanks to a snowstorm coming in at the perfect time! But with that being so completely different from their middle of August Mountainside wedding day coming up, they wanted to have some fun portraits of them a little closer to home before their big day!
I had no objections because Kelsey and Ryan are so much fun to photograph! The way Ryan holds Kelsey and wraps her in his arms and the way Kelsey has to have heels and reach with all her might to give him a kiss on the cheek, are some of my favorite things to photograph while the two of them interact. I am counting down the days until their House Mountain Inn Wedding in Lexington, Virginia.
