We had a smaller but mighty group of women on this hike with us! Four other women went with me to hike White Oak Canyon and splash around in the water at the base of waterfalls. Three of those women were on their first hike with Her Hike Collective and one of those women is MY MOM! She is an inspiration herself. She has walked every morning, for miles at a time, for over four years. Any weather conditions, no matter what she gets out in the morning and walks. She is one of the perfect examples about what getting outside, being more active and being in nature can do for us mentally and physically. That is what Her Hike Collective is about!
Since starting this hiking group my Mom has wanted to go on them and finally this scheduled hike she was available. We had a wonderful day walking through the streams, hopping from rock to rock and getting in the water at the base of the largest waterfall on the hike. We all were surprised by how big this waterfall was, it looked smaller in some of the pictures that I had seen previously on Hiking Upward.
This hike we did only about four miles of it and I am excited to go back this weekend with a few other couples and my Husband to do the entire loop, which is eight miles! There are two other sets of waterfalls that I didn’t see on this one, an over look of those, a sliding rock and two more swimming holes!
Our next hike with Her Hike Collective is next weekend and I can’t wait to discover another new waterfall, a summit and another swimming hole!
